OPUS - Express yourself!

KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH (Kahla, Germany) at the Ambiente in Frankfurt/ Main from 9th to 13th February 2007: Besides colour-intense spring novelties, an innovative collection will be presented which pioneers a new dimension of porcelain production. OPUS combines a futurist extravagance and the typical design with added value KAHLA is known for – and addresses an exclusive clientele.

OPUS seems to have eliminated all physical rules porcelain matter has. This architecturally inspired shape can only be produced with most modern techniques – made in Germany.

For the new KAHLA series, the designer trio „speziell produktgestaltung“ took up furniture, car and futurist architectural trends. OPUS appears like a three-dimensional stage for special treats and is suggestive of houses built by Frank O. Gehry or Daniel Libeskind. The opened and turned up shape creates additional areas for holding as well as for placing food and decoration. With OPUS, the versatile German porcelain trendsetter KAHLA again gives proof of its modern design for multi-purpose use. The graphically oriented series can be used by ambitious private households and sophisticated gastronomy alike.

measurements & prices:
maxi dish 32 x 27 cm
midi dish 25 x 20 cm
mini dish 19 x 11 cm
bowl 0,40 l
dip bowl 15 x 7 cm
price – set of 2 pcs. from 23,00 €

On five multifunctional items, a charming alternation of bright and shadowy surfaces is performed. The maxi dish is either a dinner or gourmet plate or a serving dish. You can also choose a midi dish, which is an ideal set together with the bowl, also serving as a lid. The mini dish, taking up bread and side dishes, and the small dip bowl complete the modern series. All five articles are offered in sets of two.

OPUS is available in pure white, with a dark brown mallow blossom décor (OPUS # 1) or a modern mesh structure in copper (OPUS # 2) and green (OPUS # 3) which perfectly underlines the architectural shape of the porcelain. A precious detail: The copper coloured lines shine on a satined background, creating a special sparkling effect.

For a striking presentation to the consumer, a new display has been created (design: Mirjami Rissanen). Each OPUS set is packed into a high-quality, re-usable cotton bag.

For the first time, KAHLA’s brand logo is shown on the upper surface of the product, fulfilling the increasing demand of many customers for a visible yet subtle brand communication. Now the little white “crown” signals the origin of the sensuous porcelain on the table to each design connoisseur.

Once again, typical for KAHLA: A limited number of pieces for optimal combinations – design with added value!

Spring additions also for the well-established KAHLA series:

Novelties from UPDATE and FIVE SENSES ...
Besides the exclusive new collection OPUS, the award-winning programmes UPDATE and FIVE SENSES (design for both: Barbara Schmidt) have been expanded and will be presented in a new décor.

Following latest textile trends in fashion and living areas, a large blossom in a noble brass colour has been generously applied to FIVE SENSES. With this, the well-established gourmet porcelain perfectly harmonizes with the individual style which ambitious keen cooks have in their home.

The straight and clear UPDATE collection makes an unusually playful appearance. Designer Cornelia Müller has combined elements from nature and cloth. Coloured silk flowers grow on naturalistic twigs – a refreshing creation for the clever cup and cover principle of UPDATE.

Pronto’s colour varieties on other shapes ...
In addition, the successful colour concept PRONTO will be expanded by five new articles, continuing the idea of a comprehensive décor concept for several shapes. Bestseller accessories from the ranges ABRA CADABRA (design: Cornelia Müller), CUMULUS and ELIXYR (design for both: Barbara Schmidt) in eight colours (orange, lime, sunny yellow, petrol, red, dark blue, pink and chocolate brown) offer an additional potential for creative combinations. The popular bistro porcelain is completed by the small bowls which can be used manifold to ensure an enjoyable get-together at the table.
