With its new collection TAO (design: speziell®), the German porcelain manufacturer KAHLA is on the road to harmony, while also committing itself to sustainability.
TAO mirrors the shapes of nature. Sensual contours and clear lines create a harmonious atmosphere. Almost alive, the porcelain rests in the hands of the user to make him feel as one with the tableware. TAO - smooth as washed stone, carved by flowing water.
All steps of the production process of TAO and of course of all other porcelain collections by KAHLA focus on sustainability. Porcelain by KAHLA consists of natural materials, is regularly tested by independent institutes for harmful substances and is certified to the highest standards. The TAO décors “Shi” and “Zen” are produced with a highly innovative technology, reducing CO2 emission: they do not require an additional décor firing. KAHLA has been awarded the Ökoprofit certificate since many years now. With the projects conducted according to the Ökoprofit audit, KAHLA has saved millions of litres of drinking water, thousands of kilowatt hours of electricity and thousands of kilograms of CO2 each year. The “KAHLA pro Eco” label, a registered trademark, marks this sustainability strategy. KAHLA meets international environmental, security and quality requirements. The clear strategy of products ‚Made in Germany’ applies to all KAHLA products.
By making sustainability an issue, KAHLA meets the demands of the modern LOHAS (lifestyle of health and sustainability) consumers. Their consumer behaviour is marked by ecological and social awareness, as well as a strong interest in brands, enjoyment and quality. KAHLA also appeals to the hotel and restaurant industry. More and more hotels and restaurants offer high-quality, organic food. KAHLA’s porcelain, produced in sustainable way rounds these concepts off. Kahla, 13th February 2009
