Once again, porcelain by the German manufacturer KAHLA is one of the winners of the renowned iF Product Design Awards. For KAHLA this award is the 69th design award since 1994. TAO, the first porcelain that is produced environment-friendly, hereby already receives its second design prize within a short period of time and is in line with the many other successful collections in the selection of the trendsetter from Thuringia.
Natural shapes, sensual contours and at the same time clear lines characterize TAO. They let the porcelain resemble stones moulded by water that can be found while taking a walk on the beach or in a bubbling creek. The 20-piece series is designed for gourmets who enjoy escaping the everyday hectic with a cup of tea or a Mediterranean meal, since all the pieces of the collection are fashioned with soft lines and lie gently in the hand.
The idea for the extraordinarily harmonious form of the collection comes from the designer trio speziell® from Offenbach. They have already enriched the selection of the KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH with remarkably innovative ideas in the past.
TAO can already book extraordinary references for itself. The Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi, which offers not only a spectacular architecture and interior design but also an excellent service, chose TAO as the tableware of its four first-class restaurants.
Just as all the collections from the KAHLA assortment also TAO meets the newest standards for a sustainable and environment-friendly production. All series are produced at the site in Germany. Apart from this “Made in Germany” strategy KAHLA focuses on a sensible use of natural resources, the use of CO2-neutral advertising material and packaging as well as the compliance with international environmental, safety and quality standards. This strategy is visualized through the “KAHLA pro Eco“ label on all packages and advertising material.
In order to offer an even wider atmosphere of well-being at the table, KAHLA plans to expand the TAO assortment. KAHLA thereby reacts to the high demands of its customers from retail stores, department stores and also from the international hotel and restaurant industry. The new TAO articles will be presented at the international trade fair Ambiente in Frankfurt in February 2010.
