Deadline: 10th February 2010
Artists, designers, ceramicists and students of any creative subject are invited to apply for the international porcelain workshop KAHLA Kreativ.
There are two anniversaries to be celebrated in 2010: the beginning of European porcelain manufacture 300 years ago in Meißen and the completely independent re-invention of porcelain by two Thuringian master glass makers 250 years ago. To mark this occasion, KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH, one of the most modern and innovative porcelain manufacturers in Europe, invites artists, designers, ceramicists and students of any creative subject to come and develop their inventive talent at its production plant and to take advantage of the facilities available there in implementing their own ideas. An independent international jury will select a maximum of 15 participants who will spend four weeks in summer 2010 (from 14th June to 9th July) exploring new possibilities for working with the historic material porcelain within the context of the fifth international porcelain workshop KAHLA Kreativ. At the end of the workshop there will be an exhibition of work with a one day symposium, followed by a touring exhibition.
